

    
1. Bring
the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the rice and
        
stir once. Return the water to a boil. Cover with a tight fitting lid and
        
reduce the flame. Simmer the rice for 45 minutes or until tender. 
        
Add more water if necessary.
 
    
2. To
the rice add the butter and gently stir to coat the rice. Next add
        
the soy sauce, garlic powder and cheese. Stir gently and serve hot.
